CHAPTER 8

Other side Maan is feeling terribly confused, angered and sad too. He doesn't know, how is he going to cope up with a girl, who is 360 opposite to him in everything.


Neelam too didn't call at all as she was on an official foreign trip and didn't get time to call to Geet and Maan.


Today is the fourth day of their cold war and this is when Maan received a call from his mom.


"Maan! How are you, my son? How is my shona Geet?" Neelam asked with affection.


"All is as same as mom and how are you? Missing you so much" but Maan tone gave up his mantle status in front of the lady, who keep him in her womb for 9 months.


"Is there something, you want to Tell me Maan? why are you sounding dull bacha? Geet... is she fine... call her Maan... I want to talk to her." Neelam felt restless with the silence from another side.


"Mom vo... I don't wanna talk about her.. I never have seen someone with such disgusting thought" Maan said with pure angry tone.





"Maan..." Neelam said angrily... "Is this way to talk about your wife? This is what I teach you?"


"Then what should I do mom.. aarti karu uski... she literally had broken my group and you can't even imagine, what has she done? Damn, she doubted on Armaan n Rahul... I mean how could she? They are my chuddy buddy yaar... how... I don't know Mumma... How to explain... I couldn't able to meet eye with Armaan anymore... she denied their entry in the apartment... how the hell she did something like that mom, just call her back mom... I can't even able to breathe with her under the same roof... I hate her mom... hate her so much" he poured his all frustration finally in front of his mom, who isn't only his mentor, but a first friend too.


"What an irony Maan?" She paused for a second to control her nerve to not to shout at him for his stupid behavior, but Maan frowned with his mother reaction.

 "You cared for your friends and you cared for your friendship too, but not your wife... for god sake Maan if they are your friends then who is she Maan? A stranger or just responsibility which your mom forced to you... who is she Maan?" Neelam paused for a moment.

"Did you ask her if someone said something or troubled her? Did you ask her about her behavior? What if someone is troubling her behind you back and her behavior is just her consciousness... with whom she share her pain and fear Maan... have you thought in this direction ever".


"Mom.. you are unnecessarily blaming my buddies?" He winched stubbornly.



"No.. I am not... I am just trying to show you the mirror of reality and what had she done wrong? If she was conscious for her safety? Who will take responsibility if her doubts turn out to be true even one percent... just answer me Maan... is your anger able to give her back the lost respect again."



"Mom.. she knows them."



"Yes, she just barely knows them so, she feels danger in the presence of two merely known men and banned their entry into the apartment because her husband was not there to save her from any unexpected danger... How is this all to you sound Maan?"

"She is a girl Maan and she had the ability to see, what you can't and for any girl, safety is more important compare to anyone so called self-respect."

 "And if your buddies are really a gentleman than they themselves didn't like to invade any woman privacy in her husband absence."


"I.. I.. mom"


"I am really feeling ashamed that I failed to teach you about girl's respect and respect their privacy. She did absolutely right whatever she felt opt for her safety and you can't snatch this right from her just at the name of your so called friendship now if you have slight shame in you then go and ask sorry to her... console her that she didn't do anything wrong... I know... how it feels when you are in such embarrassing situation"


Neelam hanged up the call in anger whilst Maan is sitting on the bench stunned with his mom giant lecture on Women Safety and Self-respect.


"How could she expect me to know all this? Neither I have a sister, nor a girlfriend... wife is nothing, but an unexpected event of my life...  how could I know... what insecurity girls had in their heads" Maan thought with a pout but he felt angry on Nisha. She too is a girl... but she didn't take any initiative to correct me. He sighed... this is his responsibility to look after his wife... not theirs.

He entered in their apartment at the time of evening after 4 days or else he chose to come at late night just for sleeping.



Geet frowned to see him so earlier and feel a somersault of fear in her belly. Did he come with some purpose? Is he going to throw her out at this time? So many negative thoughts hovered in her brain in just span of 60 seconds.




Maan comes and stands in front of her, still rubbing her forehead from where to start whilst she clutched hard the sides of her suit in fists... fearing from his any action.




"I am sorry." she shocked with his sudden advance that has frozen her for a moment and next second he did something totally unexpected when he embraced her and whisper "I am sorry" one again in her ear. She knew the meaning of this three words as he taught her a few days back.
