CHAPTER 3

Life turns ups and down for both of them. Both are fighting with their inner self and trying to adjust to the new change of their life.


After Neelam left, the night was quite without many events as both trying to digest each other. Maan ordered food from outside and both ate it silently and then slept Maan was on the bed whilst Geet laid down own the couch.


Next morning


Geet woke up on her usual timing at 5'o clock and scanned new surrounding of her then sighed after getting flashbacks of yesterday. She knew her duties and not the one who just run away from them. So she got up and first freshen up then started to clean the apartment from the kitchen and get familiar with her new house. She didn't want to disturb Maan's sleep to decided to clean the kitchen first and made breakfast for herself and Maan than later she will clean their room.



"Don't touch my belongings.. got it" Maan shouted in English to see his shaving kit placed outside from washroom and his so called wife is busy in cleaning.

 



Geet gave him confuse look as she could make out that he is angry but what he said in English.. went two feet above from her head.



"I didn't know English so, if wanna fight please fight in the language Hindi" Geet said with a frown and get her attention back to the mirror of washroom.. which was she cleaning before with a newspaper.




Maan jaw dropped after hearing his so called innocent wife audacity.. he was so sure that she was unaffected by his macho man, dangerous hot and sexy personality but he comes to know that she doesn't even care for his anger too... here he is seething and she was so cool and damn.. what she said .. I am fighting with her.. don't I have any other work.



"Fine Madam! After today... You will not touch my belongings..." Maan pointed his finger toward her and she just rolled her eye.




"Then who will do it.. neighbors??.. I am just cleaning around as I didn't have habit to stay in garbage like you educated people's" she scanned his room and embarrassed him.. Ohh common he is a boy who had so many projects and friends to visit this apartment.. hell from where he will suppose to get time for cleaning and all.




"Tum.. tum.." Maan stammered and Geet took advantage of it
"(You.. you)"



"Me.. me... what.. see I had so much work to look after .. so please first get ready with your speech... till then I will finish the preparation of lunch" Geet wiped her palm over the side of her saree and left in the kitchen with holding her head high.




"From which angel.. she looked innocent to my mom and here see, how sharp tongue she has... huh" Maan collected his laptop and books and settled in their room attached terrace to complete his project which will be submitted by tomorrow.

Three days passed with their as the usual time to time arguments and Maan had to join his college from today after a long weekend. He had completed his assignment last night and now searching it on the table where he left it last night without putting in the file. Damn, he doesn't even scanned those paper and save it in the lappy.



"Geettt.. Geettt" Maan shouted like a maniac.



Geet comes out from the kitchen with hands is all messed with Atta as she was making breakfast for him before he left for his university when she heard the loud shouting of Maan and rushed into their room.



"Where is my project papers?" Maan took steady steps toward her and his palm curled in fists whilst eyes are spitting fire.





 "Which papers... I don't know anything Maan Ji" Geet felt intimated with his alien unacquainted look.




"Don't try to act smart Geet... I know what is running behind this innocent almond hazels" he cornered her and pressed his body to prevent her from running.




"I swear.. I didn't know about any papers Maan Ji" Geet was scared from the intimidating position of them.




"The same papers which were on the table at this morning)"





"Vo... I were just cleaning around"




"Damn.. don't say you throw them with the garbage.." Maan said in his fluent English and Geet just nodded in yes all scared from his top of lungs shouting.



"What could be except to an illiterate like you.. you did all the planning very nicely just see How you turned my life hell as if it wasn't enough now you came here too as you want to play this hubby wife game fine, so come we will play" he pressed his body harshly in her soft one whilst warm tears rolled down from her almond eyes to see so much hatred for herself. She couldn't even leave from here as this city is new for her.. and she is in his misery.



Maan banged the wall behind her and moved away in anger. He was so angry at the moment that he throw her all belongings here and there.. and left with his laptop beg.. without even glancing back even once.



Geet wiped her tears slowly and moved to lock the door.. then off the gas as he was already left and she wasn't in the mood to eat.


She just quietly moved and gathered her belongings from the floor and kept them neatly in her suitcase. She dropped the idea to place them back in the cupboard with his belongings because if she lost her things that she doesn't have any fund to buy them and Maan was always unpredictable.


Her throat is choked with the high emotions but she doesn't want to cry as she took his anger always as his frustration.. she always thought herself a mismatch for him and he deserved someone like him as his partner... another side she could give him only embarrassment and make him laughing stroke between his friend.


Meanwhile, landline rung loudly and made her come back from her reverie.. she received the call...



"Maa.." she cried



"Haa maa mai bilkul thik hu.. haa sab accha.. nahi unhune acche se baat bhi ki.. nahi naa baba mai bhout kush hu.. ro nahi rahi hu apki yaad aa rahi.. bola naa maa ... apki awaaz suni tu dil bhar aaya hai bas.. or kuch nahi.. accha app phir se phone karna.. nahi abhi nahi sikha vo kal bhout kaam tha unhe.. haa aaj pake se apka number milna sikhe lungi.. app apna kyaal rakhna.."
"(Yes mom.. I am fine... yes everything is fine mumma... No.. he talked with me nicely... no, my dear! I am happy... so happy... no, I am crying.. it just I am missing you, mom... I said naa mumma... I just get emotional after hearing your voice.. nothing else.. ok but you will again call me naa... no I didn't teach me still... ok I will learn it today itself.. you take care of yourself.. hmm)"



Geet asked forgiveness from her Krishna Ji for her white lies from Maa but she couldn't tell her anything which cost her.. health of his mother. She knew now life long she had to live with this pain and unmanned relation.



"Yaa.. this is what am I.. illiterate.. what wrong and new he said.. for this you are crying Geet," her mind said and few more tears drop from her almond eyes. She felt insulted with his words.. before today she never felt this much bad for the taunt of being illiterate.

Other side Maan reached to his university campus.. anger and irritation were quite visible on his sharp face features. He parked his bike and went inside. He was in fall mood just because of his stupid wife.. he was going to get Zero in his project.



"Will buy a lock today for my cupboard.." he thought angrily and searched his computer genius friend Adi.


"Calm down sweetheart.. why are you tensed today? Just tell me... we will find solution together" Nisha creased his hair shamelessly.. whole college knew them as couple but they are friends for each other.. at least for Maan but that doesn't mean he wasn't attracted towards the bold personality and intelligent girl like Nisha.. who is beauty with brain.. he wants someone like her in his life.. who could become his support through all life.


"I just lost my project Nishi.. and don't you dare ask... how? I am already not in the mood" Maan warned her and Nisha laughed.


"You behave sometimes like a toddler," Nisha said and Maan shoot glares at her for her audacity to call Msk.. heart throbbing handsome hunk of college.


"Let's try to recover your files from lappy... Adi will be late today.. he just called me to place his application for starting 2 periods" Nisha unzipped his laptops bag and pulled out it.. when a bundle of paper fall down with it also..


Maan frowned and pick them up and his eye widens to see his project paper neatly placed in his bag.. then why did she lie.


Maan recollects the incident of the morning and closed his eyes tightly in regret.. he had spoken in English and she was so scared to ask him to translate in Hindi so she just nodded her head in yes of whatever he was saying.


He felt just so stupid right now and guilty too that he doesn't listen whatever Nisha is blabbering from past 5 minutes.


"Will ask sorry after reaching home and finish this matter here?" he thought but his own heart feeling low to behaving with her like that. He scared her physically and it's made him feel pathetic.


The whole day he was restless but couldn't afford class bunk so he has to wait till 4 in evening to get back to his apartment and erased this unwanted.. guilt from his mind.
