Chapter 11




He called Riddimma too and both left on Armaan's bike to Maaneet's apartment. He took his first aid kit with him too. He didn't know what had exactly happened and he knew it's a waste to ask Geet as she was hyper at the moment.


Another side in the apartment, Geet hurriedly made a herbal tea with homely spices and feed him with a spoon to warm his body but nothing is working. Maan tried to hide in her waist as he is half conscious and wants just warmth... Geet without second went inside the blanket and hold him tightly to give him, her body warmth but her sobs aren't near to stop anywhere.



Armaan and Riddimma barged inside as Geet left the lock open in panic.


Geet sighed in relief to see them and sat on the bed. She explained how was Maan coughing and shivering and how did he demand a blanket?

Armaan nodded in yes and checked Maan, after the check up he got worried. Riddimma and he shared an eye lock.


"What happened?? Is everything alright?? He has exams in 20 days." Geet is sweating purposely.



"Umm Geet... I had collected his blood sample n called my senior too for a proper check up.. so wait for some time as we both can't prescribe medicines yet" before Riddimma continued, Armaan interrupted "Don't worry everything will be absolutely fine."


Geet nodded but her status is not so good so, Riddimma gave her little bit glucose for energy.


After 2 hours sample had sent for testing and Doctor prescribed temporary medicine for his high fever including some instruction which was nicely explained by Riddimma to Geet in Hindi later, like what would he not suppose to eat? Or do and don't list etc.


The whole gang reached there one by one and Nisha didn't leave this chance and pushed Geet aside far away from Maan.


"You are the bad omen of his life...you bloody illiterate girl, from the time you entered in his life...only problems are the best friend of him."






"Stop it Nisha, she isn't some virus which can go inside someone and give them typhoid" Riddimma shouted angrily but then closed her eye in regret as she and Armaan want to be sure before disclosing Maan's sudden illness reason.




Armaan glared her n she just dipped her head... "Nisha... stay quite or you can leave anytime and you are right...he has best friends like you who are nothing but a troublemaker." his voice is stern.



"And don't forget...she is his wife and the better half so, next time you push her than you have to face her brother and that is me." Adi firm voice made Nisha glared everyone presented in the room.


Geet again quietly sit next to Maan's head with his one palm in her palms. Tears are not stopping from her eye not even after Riddimma firm warning to stop crying.


The evening turned into the dark night and gang decided to have dinner as they have much responsibility now, for affording one more ill person.


Geet asked Armaan if she could give Maan vegetable soup or not.. for which he nodded positively but asked doubtfully.

"Ok but how will you make him drink.. he is unconscious because of medicine effect." he struggled to say whole stances in a language which she could understand easily.



"Just like we feed a toddler in the sleep and I will manage with a spoon, you don't worry." her eye holds so much hope.




Armaan just hummed in response and started to help Riddimma.. who is getting ready dinner for all.






He knew Adi is out to collect Maan's reports and some vegetable according to 5 or 6 people's dinner and Nisha and Rahul are hopeless when it comes to working, they could only do partying.



Everyone was worried more because of the exam as Maan's 6 months would be a waste if he wasn't able to sit in exams or it could affect his total percentage too.



Adi came and before he says even a single word... Armaan snatched report from him and checked. Riddimma too was peeping from the side as not able to hold herself at all whilst Geet is standing in front of them n chanting her beloved Krishna Ji name as much as possible.


Armaan sighed "it's typhoid guys."



Other just shared worried excluding Geet.. she is still watching Armaan with confused expressions.



"Umm Geet.. do you heard about "Motijhala" the Hindi of typhoid?" and Geet nodded quickly and sweat form on her forehead as typhoid squeeze all the energy from the body.




"O god !!! This disease turn body thin n weak and he had exams to on his head.. what will I do now Krishna Ji..." she chanted everything little loud and her tears are visible to Riddimma and Adi who is still with her whilst Armaan went to call the doctor and tell him about reports.



"Everything happened just because of she brought bad omen, just throw her out guys what the hell she did to my Maan?" Nisha sat down angrily at the side of Maan whilst Riddimma rolled her eye on her usual drama.



"Just stop it Nisha.. if you are here to pick up a fight with Geet than better leave the flat right now" she warned her in the hard voice which was an indication that she is serious on her call.


"Whatever... Ammy Yaar... where is the doctor here his body is burning." 





"He already on medicine and his fever to come down Nisha so, stop picking on everyone and try to behave maturely." Armaan snapped whilst he called Riddimma and Geet.


"Doctor is on the way and we come to know at the time so, it will not cause much weakness now...at least I am hopeful and Geet...Please have your food, you have to be his helping hand...got it," Armaan said.



"Rahul !!! Go home and drop Nisha to her home as already here is a limited place and Armaan, me and Riddimma is going to stay here and we would call you guys if we need help, it's night to give Maan too a little peace" Adi had spoken firmly.



Armaan is a male and soon to be doctor for any emergency like to take Maan hospital or any other emergency whilst Riddimma is to a doctor which is plus point because it does not look good if Geet had to stay with 2 unknown males in her house and Adi is an extra hand, in case anyone needed beside Armaan for driving or going somewhere so, trio decided to stay back in flat itself.



Maan is still unconscious due to medicines so, Armaan is in-charge and all is following his orders quietly.


Nisha n Rahul left the apartment and having no other option. Whilst Riddimma adjust 4 beds on the floor... As they decided to give Maan whole bed to sleep comfortably n Geet asked to place her bed next to Maan's bed on the floor.

Chapter 10



Love you all because of your comments I added 2 or 3 new scenes in the already written update as you wanted to see it... you detailed comments always left an impact on me to write more.

Both came at home and Geet pulled him in the kitchen for cleaning and whatever mess he created with his innovative idea to pacify her. Maan shots a baby glares to her for making him work like a donkey that too after they had such a heavy dinner in the restaurant.




"Geet noo... please" Maan stepped back in fear, but Geet didn't give any heed to his fearful baby face and empty whole vegetable garbage basket on him in the revenge as he too did throw spinach leafs on her head.


Both finally managed to clean the kitchen but laughed to see each other status and decide to take bath one by one.



"I'll go first..." Geet announced.



"Nope... I'll" Maan countered back with his palms fixed either side of his waist.


"Why are you someone VIP. I'll go first." Geet whined.



Maan shriek and bend a little with a painful expression on his face in a second Geet was next to him and asked in impatiently voice "what happened? why did you scream?".


But being an opportunist, Maan ran away and go inside the washroom. Geet jaw dropped with the realization. He had made her fool. She gave him a look "will see you later." but he gave her most innocent smile and shut the door on her face whilst his laugh echoed in the apartment.

Geet came out from the washroom with her hair wet and open. She gave angry look to Maan and scrunched her nose slightly to show him... she is still angry with him.



"Now, don't make faces my sweetheart! see I had prepared tea... come and have it then dry your hair" Maan spoke while placed two cups of hot tea at the bed table.




"No thanks, I didn't have any intention to die so soon especially such bitter death." Geet scowled and Maan laughed.




"Don't be scared Geet... I know how to prepare tea and that mess was just to pacify you," he confessed sheepishly which made Geet frowned and next moment she throw her wet towel on him in anger.




"You.. you. You are such a cunning devil Maan and I am sure you knew it." Geet glared him.



Maan just pulled her on the bed and shoved the hot tea cup in her palms to cool down her temper. He knew a cup of tea is enough to cool down his stubborn toddler wife.


A small smile touched Geet lips as he added "black pepper" in the tea for flavor and this is what she loved, but he hate it and still he added it in their tea.


Both finished and prepare for sleep when Maan again pulled her in his half-embrace and rested his back on bed post with his mobile in the fist. Geet looked at him questionably, but he blinked once and made a video call to Neelam.



"Mom... who is behaving like my mother in law and your mother nowadays," Maan whispered and Geet whacked his naked biceps.



Geet gave him a teasing smile "You are just an insecure bee Maan."



But before he answers back to his little not so innocent wife... his mother got visible on the screen as he made a video call.


Geet eye widens in amazement and she gave a look to Neelam than to Maan than back to Neelam. This is the first time when she is having a video call... so this reaction is acceptable.


Neelam laughed and Maan asked her to close her mouth or else fly will enter inside. She gave a quick glare to Maan and turn to greet Neelam.


"So finally... you got his lost brain, Maan .. I must say... you are nowhere near to your father when it comes to romance and pacifies your angry wife," Maan growled hearing his mother is making fun of his ability of romancing, but thanks his stars as she said the last link in English or else Geet was going to use it to tease him.


"Geet... What was the need to accept his apology so soon? You would let him do more hard work to pacify you." she smirked to see Maan's fuming expressions.




"Mumma, You don't know what had he done or else you wouldn't say it." Geet now sit straight in full mood to complain to her mother in law of all his doing.



"Mumma, she lost her mind...tell me how is your health, are you taking good care of yourself or I should give a surprise visit to you" Maan tried to divert the topic with his firm voice, but both women were not in his control to get scared by his fake firm voice at all.



So they just ignored his chatter-patter and continued their gossiping session which had the most annoying topic for Maan... "How messy is Geet's husband n Neelam's son is."



He growled due to this torcher to his innocent ears and Neelam was scolding him in the mid of their gossiping session whenever Geet completed his one of the misdeed stories.



"And Mumma, you should see what he had done to my kitchen or if I had forgiven him then nothing would be left in the kitchen. He had created such a huge mess Mumma," She finished her list of compliant with the latest one and gave a mocking smile to Maan who just give her "will see you later look."




"Maan, Why do you tease her too much? she is a lovely sweetheart and Geet why did you not make him clean the kitchen." Neelam spoke.. with a smile in voice.



"Wah wah... now I got...where did she get these dangerous ideas, Mom, my back is panning like hell and I am the one who did the cleaning or else your daughter-in-law just to boss over me" Maan fumed after a tiring day...Geet had commanded like a General and made him, clean the whole kitchen and here both are gossipping about him and his messy habits.



Both the ladies giggled and despite his irritation, his lips stretched into a beautiful smile.


"Maan ! Geet !Don't let come the third wheel in your relation every time you both have an argument and solve your problems with discussion and maturely and I don't want such serious issues again between you both hmm..." Neelam stern voice made both of them nodded in yes like obedient kids of her and she just rolled her eye.







After talking some more minutes... they ended call finally and Maan gave Geet a look you-are-gone and Geet gulped her saliva with those naughty look adore his face.




"Geet !!! Did you not complain too much to mom," he said and pulled her underneath him and tickled her till their Silent apartment echoed with both of their laughter.




Geet somehow slipped out from his iron grip and tickle him back and both laughed till the time Their eye sting with tears.

Maan found a friend in Geet and start to spend his evening with her mostly. He came back to his apartment direct from college and spend his time with Geet, some time he teach her some words of English.. sometimes he teach her writing counting.. he even made memorized some phone number and teach her.. how to use landline at least as he attempt went in vain to teach her mobile.



Geet felt happy to found him around her and he even calls her from his college too like a good friend. She had a television in her apartment now to pass her afternoon but one day she asked Maan...some brushes and colors for clothes painting and Maan obliged like a good husband and fulfilled her wish.

Her painted pillow covers, sheets nd other decorative items become a talk of building and some women even brought some pieces from her.


She excitedly told Maan about his first income for which Maan took her a famous temple of the city and Geet offered her first income to the god as showing gratitude. Again Maan asked her... not to spend her money and gifted her a little fairy shape bank for her collection.


Their bond is growing in a positive way so was the attraction for each other. Maan is still away from those feeling but Geet had been feeling a strong attraction for him.. she just not able to ignore hi physically as her mind had accepted completely all those vows which they took around the sacred fire at the time of their marriage.


For Maan...she is his friend and responsibility, but he never paid attention that she is his soulmate too. Perhaps his tight schedule could also blame for it...his most of the time went in studies and projects if he still gets little bit time than he gave it to KC projects. He just didn't pay attention to physical relation still.

One fine day he was roaming in a mall with Nisha when he stopped suddenly. 



"Hey what happened? What are you looking for?" Nisha asked perplexed to see him stopped at ladies boutique and jealousy run through her veins to see what was exactly Maan is looking in the boutique.

"Wait a minute Nisha," Maan said and enter inside the boutique...Nisha too followed him halfheartedly and before he says something...she popped in the mid from nowhere and grabbed the piece of his attraction in her grip.


"Aww so sweet! I just loved this saree... let me try and show you" Nisha spoke over-enthusiasms...leaving no room for Maan to deny her.


She knew all his weak points very well and one of among them is, he didn't create a fuss over materialistic goods and even leave his desire for his love ones too.


But Maan pulled it from her grip which made her rooted on the spot.


"Umm.. vo.. you could see anything... in the shop but this is for Geet," Maan felt she is still not convinced so he continued "Actually this is her favorite color...Mam can you show some in western for my friend" he said to sales girl who obliged with a smile.


But something had broken into Nisha's heart. Today Maan went over her for Geet and this is the first time when he had denied something to her... which wasn't digestible for her...tears of anguish sting her eyes and a feel of revenge sprouted in her heart.

Maan entered in their apartment whilst coughing.. he placed his laptop bag aside and fell on the bed as there is pain in his lungs and ribs from the morning, first, he gave a cold shoulder to it but now it's getting worst, his throat n head is aching n weakness made him breathing heavily.


Geet comes there with a glass of water and made him drink it.



"Geet...I am feeling really very cold... can you please take out a blanket for me," he said and laid on the bed.



Geet hurriedly went and back with the blanket and cover him securely than she removed his shoes and belt n open 3 or 4 buttons of his shirt. She felt panic to see his eyes is closing and coughing increasing.


She didn't understand what to do at this moment for a moment and decided to call Armaan first. He is an intern in the hospital and he could help her more than anyone else. She did same, what Maan had taught her and call Armaan.



"can you come to the apartment soon?"



"He is not well and I don't know any doctor..."Geet cried over the phone.



"Ok hold on...I am coming and don't be frightened." Armaan spoke the last line in brotherly concern for both of them... Geet and Maan.

CHAPTER 9

Maan comes and stands in front of her, still rubbing her forehead from where to start whilst she clutched hard the sides of her suit in fists... fearing from his any action.




"I am sorry." she shocked with his sudden advance that has frozen her for a moment and next second he did something totally unexpected when he embraced her and whisper "I am sorry" one again in her ear. She knew the meaning of this three words as he taught her a few days back.

"Yaar, see neither I am a girl, nor had a sister and there is no doubt that I am a jerk and didn't know... how a girl feels... I am just... You know me naa... I do first then think" but she cut him in mid.



"Why... now?"



"Actually, Mom has called me and give me an earful scolding to make me come back to the right path." he was struggling whilst Geet face falls down... "oh he is here because Mumma asked him" again the same history repeated, his blabbering isn't reaching to her brain and them she just left abruptly from there with any more confrontation and Maan left stunned with her action.




"Yaar I am saying sorry, please don't be angry now... please... please." he followed her in the kitchen with a puppy like expressions. He can't afford to waste this chance once again or else she will walk out on the balcony, after all, it is her all time favorite hide out.




"I am not angry Maan," she said but her voice cold like ice poured on Maan's head. 





"Will you give me food then? I didn't have anything but noodles from last 4 days." he tried to charm her but didn't know that nothing is working on her and her wound of loneliness was so deep that she doesn't want to share with him anymore.



She just nodded and start to do preparation for their dinner. Maan felt odd but think to cheer her up after dinner because poor girl is still in shock with his wired behavior.

From this point, he wants to be her friend and know, she also wants and need same, but throwing tantrum on him.



"Maan you hurt her so, better bear her all tantrums. why did you make me so kind Krishna Ji," he thought with a frown.

After dinner, Maan tried a lot to start a conversation with her but got a reply in monosyllabic only...

"Please talk to me my love here, I am chatting from hours alone like a fool..." Maan complained very cutely.




Gee sighed "I don't want to spoil my habits Maan. You come one day and demand to talk with you then next day you left me like my existence doesn't mean anything to you... I am a mere human Maan and stop expecting anything from you" 

she paused for a moment then spoke in deep low voice "I want to be alone Maan like always." she turned her back to him and pretended to sleep after giving him a sleepless night for sure.

"I am sorry... maaf kardo abb" Maan said but doesn't receive any reply.


He could feel the longing in her statement and her words rang in his ears for hours. Yes, she stayed whole day all alone in between these 4 walls. and there is no friend or family, in fact, he is the only one for her in this city and he too left her. The worst is that he didn't even say hello to her in last 4 days. He felt terrible after thinking her condition for being alone and isolated.

More day passed there is little change in him after this incident. He talked with Geet and eat dinner with her without a miss, but couldn't able to avoid his club and parties with his group. This is a part of him and can't be avoided.


"Now, what should I have to do exactly to get your forgiveness?"



Geet ignored him like before and continued her work.



"See, is this going to work?" Geet turned and find Maan is standing there in a funny pose like a clown. She suppressed her smile and turn back to prepare lunch for both of them.



"Okay, today I will cook food for us," he said and push her out of the kitchen and worn the apron like a great chef. Geet rolled her eye and just give a quick pray for her kitchen's safety from this monster's activities. 




One hour passed and she wondered, what is Maan doing exactly... no sound from the kitchen. She peeps inside and jumped out of skin when she found flour, spices even milk scattered around the slab whilst Maan is struggling with roties (round Indian bread) to give it the right shape. He messed himself too and a palak leaf is tugging on his ear and a turmeric print of palm is adoring her beloved apron.

 



She fumed to see his so called help and marched inside.



"Leave it... what had you done? Now I have to do clean this mess." she murmured and snatched spatula from him with a glare and Maan being an opportunist just caged her in his embrace. 



"Did you forgive me?" he asked with smirk and Geet turned face in annoyance.



"(You didn't.. ok I will prepare tomorrow's lunch as well. Umm, where is the wok ...Krishna Ji," He pretended to search utensils around.



"No never... you shall never step into my kitchen ever." she warned with a pointed spatula to him in warning.




"So, am I forgiven?"



"Yes, I had forgiven you, now will you please leave." she scanned the kitchen with pity face and forget her position.


"Belive me Food is good)"


She gave him a mocked glare.


But Maan made bite and placed in her mouth n she screamed


"Oh my god! Yuck...  is this even qualifies to pronounce as food?" and Maan laughed his head out.



"And this is the punishment to show antics to The Msk," he said and offered her one more bite which she snapped in anger and mumbled something.

"Huh... The Msk... My Foot."



"Okay, no need to boil in anger. I will take you outside for dinner and will help you in cleaning too."




"Help and you... !!! Whatever you have done... is enough for a lifetime and I don't want to go anywhere." but Maan didn't take her protest and after checking stove in the kitchen, he lifted in his arms and dropped her in washroom straight and locked her inside...





"Get ready in 15 minutes Geet or else will take you in whatever condition... I will find you" she heard his shouting n fumed to see his stubbornness with her always.
 



"You are shameless n incorrigible." she told him all agitated with his Stubborn demands.




"Tarif ke liye shukriya bageum...(Thanks, for the compliment my wife,) now please take little bit pain and sit onto the bike," he said dramatically and poor Geet wasn't able to hold herself back and whacked him on his back.




"O god, you are beating your husband in the street. What will this world think?" and he started the bike to have lunch with his wife.




He started to take her out for a small outing but still, the tension between his group and wife didn't seem to bug at all and which he decided to solve it as soon as possible.



He took her to a south Indian restaurant, where she relished the food every time he took her here and both had A 'paper masala dosa' with ice cream in the end.



"I know... I made mistake and asked sorry always, but I didn't do them intentionally and today I promised to you that I shall fight with you or argue with you, but will nerve stop talking and leave alone" he said when they both are taking little bit walk after dinner in the beautiful hotel garden.




"You also promise me."



"What?" Geet asked in confusion.




"You wouldn't throw tantrums on me so many days... Yaar bhout bhaav khati hu tum," he said and run to save his life whilst Geet run behind him to catch him. 




Their relation turned little unique in all sense coz both are innocent and good at heart but just destiny put them in a situation which gave them hard time to cope up with it.

Author clarification


Human is bound to do mistakes, but to accept and rectify it...  is also a big thing. If Maan had reacted here than once again he is in a situation but as soon as someone knocks some sense into him.. he is already on his knees to ask her forgiveness. He was a little bit influenced too by Nisha.. who made this a big matter also. Sometimes we only see one side of the coin only for me... no mistakes are so big to not to forgiven especially when they hadn't done intentionally.
